Key Highlights:
- The MON airdrop claim portal opened today, October 14, 2025 and will be live up till November 3, 2025.
- Eligible recipients include DeFi users, high-volume traders, longstanding NFT holders.
- MON tokens are scheduled to be distributed after the upcoming token generation event.
Monad Foundation has begun the official MON token airdrop right before its upcoming Monad Public Mainnet launch, distributing tokens to a wide and carefully chosen group of crypto users to form the network’s first stakeholder base. The airdrop covers 5,500 committed members of the Monad community and about 225,000 participants from the entire crypto space. This number highlights that the project is focusing on rewarding loyal supporters, active onchain participants and web3 contributors.
Airdrop Overview and Claim Portal
The MON tokens are being distributed through five main eligibility tracks with multiple subtracks, so users meeting multiple criteria can combine their rewards. The official claim portal is live and it has been secured with Privy authentication, which will allow wallet login from EVM or Solana wallets or account linking via Twitter, Discord, Telegram, Farcaster, or email. The portal will stay open until November 3, 2025, and users should claim carefully, avoiding fake phishing sites.
Anti-Sybil Measures and Community Focus
The project does not want bot farms or any sybil attacks to target the new network, Monad has carefully selected genuine and valuable community members. Eligibility for initial stakeholders required hard-to-fake proof of engagement both onchain and offchain.
Onchain, it included meaningful capital deposits, consistent DeFi activity, high-volume decentralized exchange trading, and ownership of popular NFTs like Mad Labs, Solana Monkey Business, and Pudgy Penguins.
Offchain, the criteria looked at all verified social accounts, active participation in web3 communities, and contributions to public goods and security research.
To spot and remove sybil addresses, Monad used Trusta AI for anti-sybil analysis. Manual labeling, social graph reviews, and community tools such as Monad Community Recognizer and Monad Cards helped identify dedicated participants. The Monad Community track received the largest allocation, reflecting the network’s belief that strong community support and early pioneer members are key to its long-term success.
Onchain and NFT Inclusion
The airdrop will reward active users of EVM-compatible and Solana blockchains who have created real value onchain. This includes people have used or traded heavily on platforms such as Hyperliquid, Phantom Wallet, and memecoin markets such as Pump.fun and Virtuals or provided liquidity to DeFi protocols like Aave, Euler, Morpho, Curve, PancakeSwap, and Uniswap.
NFT ownership has also been considered. Long time holders of popular collections like Azuki, Chimpers, Crypto Punks, Doodles, Milady Maker, Moonbirds, Redacted Remilio Babies and especially Mad Lads, Solana Monkey Business and Pudgy Penguins were rewarded for being early adopters and shaping the crypto culture. People that are active in DAO governance for some DeFi protocols were also considered eligible.
Broader Crypto Community and Builder
The airdrop is not just for core Monad users or the big traders. It is also for the bigger crypto community, which includes active crypto Twitter users that have been spotted through the Monad Cards and people from groups like Legion Fundraising, Backpack Wallet, Fantasy Top Heroes, MetaDAO, ARC Community, and Farcaster.
People who help build and teach in crypto have also been rewarded. This includes security researchers, auditors, educators such as RareSkills and SheFi and active protocol developers. Monad builders, developers that take part in hackathons, missions and ecosystem projects, have also been included on the basis of their work and event participation, while its full-time employees of Monad Foundation and Category Labs were excluded to make sure that there is no conflict of interest.
