Taylor Barr Joins Chainlink Amid Coinbase Tokenization Push

Taylor Barr, the former director of government affairs at the Digital Chamber, has joined Chainlink Labs as its new head of policy, bringing experience from multiple major U.S. crypto policy efforts to the blockchain infrastructure organization.
Barr announced the move on X and stated that after three years at the Digital Chamber, where he worked on legislation and regulatory authority engagement surrounding digital assets, his departure comes as Chainlink continues to expand its role across the blockchain and financial markets ecosystem, including infrastructure created to support tokenized assets and their appropriate use in decentralized finance.
Barr Brings Crypto Policy Experience to Chainlink
In an X post, Taylor Barr said he was leaving the Digital Chamber after more than three years and joining Chainlink as head of policy. He described the shift as a new phase after working with the Digital Chamber on multiple major policy initiatives.
During his tenure at the Digital Chamber, Barr helped advance the GENIUS Act, which created a regulatory framework for stablecoins, and worked on moving the Clarity Act forward. The legislation seeks to clarify the respective roles of the Securities Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission in overseeing digital commodities.
Barr pointed to the legislative process as one of the salient achievements of his time and the residual chamber. His work efforts to move policy discussions forward as U.S. lawmakers continue to assess how digital assets should fit within the nation’s existing financial regulatory framework.
Taylor Barr also emphasized the company’s work in bringing government representatives into conversations around blockchain policy. He said the team brought 50 government speakers to the DC Blockchain Summit, alongside other policy wins during his time period.
Chainlink welcomed Barr to the team with Chris Barrett, senior director, posting on X, Welcome to the Chainlink team. The organization also focused on the addition as a part of strengthening its policy presence in Washington.
Taylorr Barr said he was beyond grateful to the Digital Chamber team and several of its leaders for giving him the chance to work on these initiatives. He also expressed joy about joining Chainlink at a time when global markets are increasingly moving on-chain.
Chainlink Expands Policy and Tokenized Asset Push
Barr’s entry comes as Chainlink’s blockchain infrastructure is connecting blockchain applications with tokenized financial assets. The organization has recently emphasized Chainlink data feeds as a route for DeFi protocols to embed Coinbase tokenized stocks as collateral. This might potentially allow tokenized equities to become more composable within decentralized financial applications. Coinbase tokenized stocks are currently available only in eligible jurisdictions outside the United States.
The development adds to Chainlink’s broader focus on connecting blockchain-based applications with traditional financial assets by providing data infrastructure for tokenized assets, the company seeking to support applications that need reliable information for assessment and collateral management.
Chainlink has also been selected as the exclusive data infrastructure provider for NUVA, a platform associated with Animoca Brands and NUVA Labs that is bringing institutional real-time assets into DeFi. The first asset powered through the integration is nvPRIME, which represents exposure to short-term financing, supported by residential housing loans, including U.S. home equity lines of credit.
Through the setting, Chainlink is expected to provide infrastructure for correct valuation of tokenized credit assets, reliable collateralization, and lending market with greater composability across DeFi applications. Taylor Bars’ move therefore comes alongside a comprehensive push by blockchain companies to boost their engagement with policymakers as digital assets become connected to regulated financial markets.
His background in government affairs and public legislation gives Chainlink extra policy experience as the organization expands its infrastructure across tokenized assets and on-chain financial applications.
