Gate Releases Latest Proof of Reserves Report: Total Reserves Rise to $8.215 Billion

Gate has released its latest Proof of Reserves report, which reveals that the cryptocurrency exchange held $8.215 billion in total reserves as of August 19, 2026. The report shows that Gate’s reserve ratio reached 127%, exceeding the industry’s security benchmark of 100%. Gate said the surplus reserves are there to help the platform handle market swings and potential liquidity issues. The numbers also show a steady growth in reserves across many of Gate’s biggest assets.

According to the report, both user holdings and Gate’s own reserves have increased for BTC and ETH as compared to the last update. Stablecoin assets also rose, and major assets like GT and XRP maintained reserve ratios above 100%. Gate cited these figures as evidence of its focus on asset management, reserve coverage, and risk control.

Gate’s Total Reserves Reach $8.215 Billion

Gate’s total reserves have reached $8.215 billion. The reserve ratio is 127%, meaning the reported reserves exceed the user assets Gate needs to cover.

Gate has highlighted the gap between reserves and user assets and described it as an important part of its risk management strategy. The company said that maintaining surplus reserves helps it to strengthen its ability to withstand stretches of market volatility and liquidity pressure.

They have also explained that the continued rise in reserves reflects a cautious and long-term approach to managing assets. The report focuses on core cryptocurrencies and stablecoins, and highlights changes since the previous report in both user holdings and platform reserves.

BTC and ETH Reserves Continue to Grow

Bitcoin reserves rose as user holdings increased. In the previous report, user holdings were 21,557 BTC. Now, that number has risen to 22,436 BTC. Gate’s own BTC reserves rose from 26,775 BTC to 27,550 BTC. Based on those numbers, Gate said its excess reserve ratio for BTC is 22.79%.

Ethereum also followed a similar pattern. User ETH holdings increased from 374,348 to 375,429, while Gate’s reserves rose from 456,798 ETH to 458,203 ETH. Gate has reported an excess reserve ratio of 22.05% for ETH. So, both BTC and ETH reserves remained well above users’ holdings of those cryptocurrencies.

Stablecoin Assets See a Significant Increase

Stablecoins were another area of growth. Total user assets across USDT, USDC, USD1, and GUSD rose from $1.336 billion to $1.578 billion.

Gate’s reserves for those stablecoins also increased, going from $1.59 billion to $1.761 billion. The aggregate reserve ratio for these stablecoins reached 111.63%, resulting in an excess reserve ratio of 11.63%. Gate’s reserves for all four stablecoins remained well above total user assets.

The ongoing increase in both user assets and reserves is notable in the report, especially since stablecoins account for a large share of assets on crypto exchanges.

GT and XRP Remain Above the 100% Benchmark

Gate also covered other major assets on the platform. GT kept a reserve ratio of 131.15%, while XRP reached 116.09%.

Both ratios managed to beat Gate’s benchmark of 100%. The exchange said that keeping reserve ratios above this mark for major assets demonstrates its continued commitment to maintaining strong coverage of user holdings.

So, the latest report confirms reserve coverage above 100% for the main assets Gate highlighted, with the overall reserve ratio at 127%. Along with the growth reported in BTC, ETH, and stablecoin reserves, Gate said these numbers show its dedication to fund security and risk management.

The exchange described its ongoing focus on building reserves for core assets and holding excess coverage as part of its long-term, careful, and sustainable asset management plan.
