Press Release

Thailand 2025 Cyber Security Summit to Boost Digital Defence

Physical Conference on the 29th of May, Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit

A prominent Southeast Asian energy conglomerate narrowly escaped catastrophe after falling victim to a highly sophisticated cyberattack. The threat actors employed deep fake video technology to impersonate executive leaders, sending authentic-looking instructions for a “typical” software update. In minutes, ransomware was released across the hybrid network, infecting both IT and OT systems.

But this was no ordinary breach. The organization had to recently deploy a Zero Trust architecture equipped with AI-powered threat detection. In just 13 minutes into the attack, suspicious behavioral activity was identified, suspicious access was revoked, and containment measures were triggered. A full-scale crisis was averted.

Incident response teams responded in force, fueled by a comprehensive response playbook. What might have been a catastrophic interruption of energy distribution services was derailed before it reached critical Infrastructure.

Post-incident, the company integrated human risk management training, anomaly detection systems, and encrypted traffic analytics to proactively combat evolving threats. This transformation now serves as a regional case study in resilience—and one that sets the tone for the Cyber Security Summit Thailand 2025, powered by Exito.
