Solana Partners with D3 Global and InterNetX to Tokenize 46M+ Internet Domains

The future of the internet is taking shape, and the Solana blockchain is at the forefront. With its latest partnership with D3 Global and InterNetX, the blockchain platform is set to revolutionize the domain industry and unlock new opportunities for growth and innovation.
This groundbreaking partnership, announced at the Solana Breakpoint 2025 conference, intends to bring massive changes to the domain ownership, trading, and utilization. By leveraging Doma Protocol, a decentralized blockchain infrastructure that bridges traditional internet domains with Web3 extensions, Solana is set to introduce a massive new asset class and empower a novel generation of users, developers, and investors.
Bringing Internet Infrastructure Onchain via Solana: A Game-changer for the Web?
According to a press release, D3 Global, a domain namespace network, has entered into a pioneering partnership with InterNetX, a leading internet service provider. This strategic collaboration intends to tokenize over 46 million internet domains as RWAs on the Solana blockchain via Doma Protocol.
“The next phase of the internet can’t stay locked in Web2,” noted InterNetX CEO Elias Rendón Benger. He added,
“Domains need to be programmable, liquid, and usable inside Web3 ecosystems. Doma is the only blockchain that keeps domains DNS-functional while enabling Web3 ownership and composability. Together with D3, we aim to bring our entire premium and retail inventory onchain at scale with zero disruption to how domains work today.”
Doma Protocol’s Mainnet Launch Opens DomainFi Potential
Last month, D3 Global launched Doma Protocol, the world’s first DNS-compliant blockchain for domain tokenization. This significant milestone transitions domain assets from testnet to a live economy, empowering users to tokenize, fractionalize, and trade premium domains as ERC-20 tokens using real cryptocurrency.
With Doma Protocol’s mainnet launch, the collaboration between Solana, D3 Global, and InterNetX brings DomainFi’s vision of a decentralized internet infrastructure one step closer to reality. This innovative alliance allows connecting between Web2’s $360B domain market with Web3, with which real.com, .ai, and xyz domains can now exist as programmable, liquid assets without losing DNS functionality.
Significantly, this initiative marks the first time that internet infrastructure, such as domains, is being brought onchain, unlocking new possibilities for ownership, trading, and utilization. Global D3 Co-Founder Fred Hsu stated,
“This is the first time the global domain industry is coming onchain at scale, unlocking an entirely new RWA class for Web3. Solana is a core ecosystem for Doma from day one because its speed and composability perfectly match our vision. Real domains can now sit alongside tokens and NFTs in Solana as scarce, revenue-generating assets backed by the utility of the internet itself.”
In addition, Doma Protocol is set to play a pivotal role in Solana’s future identity layer as a key technology behind the Solana Record Service (SRS) project. With the Doma-SRS integration live on devnet and slated for mainnet launch in early 2026, users will gain access to a suite of domain-backed primitives on Solana, including the ability to trade premium domains such as NFTs, launch premium domain tokens with transparent pricing models, store domains in native Solana wallets, and leverage domains for lending, fractional ownership, and DeFi integrations.
This move will also enable the creation of Real-World Asset (RWA) portfolios backed by tangible internet infrastructure, further expanding the utility and value of domains on the Solana blockchain.
