BitMine Closes in on 5%: 102K Ethereum Purchase Fuels 3.2% Stake
BitMine continues to make waves in the cryptocurrency market with its remarkable Ethereum acquisition. Acquiring over 102k ETH tokens in the past week, BitMine Immersion Technologies has further solidified its position as the largest public holder of Ethereum.
Backed by a group of prominent players like ARK Invest’s Cathie Wood, Founders Fund, and Galaxy Digital, BitMine’s vision for the future of crypto is clear- to accumulate and hold ETH for the long term. With sights set on accumulating 5% of the total supply of Ether, the Ethereum treasury company is making strategic steps and moving closer to its target.
The Alchemy of ETH Accumulation: BitMine Moves Closer to the 5% Target
BitMine, the Nasdaq-listed Ethereum treasury company, has disclosed its impressive ETH holdings, totalling $13.2 billion. With its latest purchase of 102,259 ETH over the past week, the company now holds 3,967,210 ETH, comprising 3.2% of the total token supply. This makes it two-thirds of the way towards its ambition of acquiring 5% of the total ETH in supply. BitMine noted in a press release, “BitMine now owns more than 3.2% of the ETH token supply, two-thirds of the way to the ‘Alchemy of 5%.’”
The company Chairman, Thomas Lee, elaborated on BitMine’s crypto ambitions as it continues to accumulate top assets like BTC and ETH. “BitMine continues to add steadily to its ETH holdings, adding 102,259 ETH in the past week,” stated Lee. He also highlighted the positive developments in the crypto space that paved the way for increased adoption and growth. These developments include favourable legislation and regulations, especially under President Donald Trump’s administration.
Further, he expressed confidence that the best days for crypto are just coming. He added,
“Crypto prices have stabilized in the past week, further evidence that crypto prices have begun to recover after the price shock of October 10th. 2025 saw many positive developments in digital assets, including positive legislation passed by the US Congress and favorable regulations, and by strengthening support from Wall Street. These strengthen our conviction that the best days for crypto are ahead and why we continue to accumulate ETH towards our ‘alchemy of 5%’ target.
In addition, BitMine also boasts 193 Bitcoin, a total cash of $1 billion, and other cryptocurrencies. This indicates that the company’s vision is not limited to ETH but extends to a broader range of digital assets and substantial cash reserves. “We continue to make progress on our staking solution known as The Made in America Validator Network (MAVAN),” stated Lee, elaborating on his vision. He added, “This will be the ‘best-in-class’ solution offering secure staking infrastructure and will be deployed in early calendar 2026.”
BitMine Ranks Among US Trading Giants
Driven by its strategic crypto acquisition, BitMine has joined the ranks of top US stocks, with an average daily trading volume of $1.9 billion. This places it 41st among over 5,700 US-listed stocks.
Despite this hype, the BitMine stock price (BMNR) is currently down. As of now, the shares are priced at $34.69, marking a marginal decline of 0.34% in a day. Over the past five days, the BMNR stock has seen a more notable plummet of 3.5%. At the same time, the shares are also up by 0.26% and a massive 595% in a month and six months, respectively.
