TRON Now Live on MetaMask: A New Era for On-Chain Transactions

MetaMask has launched support for the TRON Network across its mobile app and browser extension wallets. With this strategic move, TRON becomes natively supported by MetaMask, one of the most prominent Web3 wallets.
Now, MetaMask users can directly access TRON without relying on third-party tools. Users can also send USDT on TRON, stake TRX, manage TRON-based tokens, and engage with native dApps. The alliance also expands MetaMask’s on-chain capabilities, allowing users to swap assets across TRON, Ethereum-compatible chains, Solana, and Bitcoin.
MetaMask is Expanding Multichain Vision with TRON
“TRON is now LIVE on MetaMask,” announced the Web3 wallet via an X post just minutes before. With the TRON integration, MetaMask is letting its users access TRON via its mobile app and browser extension. With this move, users can now manage TRON-based assets and interact with TRON dApps.
TRON has established itself as a key settlement layer for global stablecoin transactions. It handles over $21 billion in daily stablecoin transfer volume. Community Spokesperson Sam Elfarra asserted that the integration allows users to access a blockchain that supports large scale real-world payment transfers and DeFi activities. Elfarra added,
“The TRON native integration into MetaMask significantly broadens access to a blockchain that processes more than $21 billion in daily stablecoin transfer volume. This integration empowers more users worldwide to interact with TRON’s growing ecosystem directly through a familiar wallet environment, supporting real-world payment and DeFi use cases at scale.”
How This Integration Works?
MetaMask sees this integration as a major milestone. It enhances its multichain capabilities, making it a universal gateway to Web3. It may reduce friction, improve user experience, and lead to wider adoption of decentralized applications worldwide.
The integration adds TRON as a selectable option within the wallet. Users can connect to the network by entering details like chain ID, RPC, URL, and token symbol.
This works similarly to the addition of networks like Ethereum and Polygon. Once connected, the wallet shows TRX balances and allows users to transfer TRC-20 and TRC-721 tokens. It also allows users to use TRON-based applications, including DeFi platforms, games, and NFT marketplaces.
Notably, this rollout builds on a previous collaboration with TRON DAO, initially announced in August. The wallet sees this as another major step in its broader effort to natively support non-EV blockchains. It is built on the wallet’s recent support for Solana and Bitcoin. Rizvi Haider, Staff Product Manager at MetaMask, stated,
“As we continue expanding MetaMask’s multichain capabilities, native TRON integration represents another milestone in our multichain expansion strategy, joining Solana and Bitcoin as non-EVM networks now accessible through a unified interface. “This integration meets users where they are as we continue to move closer to delivering a truly universal gateway to the decentralized economy.”
Expanding Global Blockchain Access
Significantly, TRON has seen impressive adoption across the world, especially in areas like Asia, Latin America, and Africa. Stablecoins play a major role in these regions in payments, remittances, and on-chain financial activity.
With the latest TRON integration on MetaMask, the platforms intend to bring enhanced transaction facilities to their users, reducing barriers. This also reflects a growing trend toward wallet-led multichain access.
